Their creative journey began with an impromptu recording session in Istanbul, which gave birth to the unique sound and vision of Sazakan.
With their upcoming album “Earth is Alive”, Sazakan harnesses the energy of nature and mythology, weaving an intricate tapestry of sound that both captivates and mystifies. The harmonious interplay of instruments such as drums, guitars, saxophones, indigenous flutes, and the handpan takes listeners on a journey where serenity and the raw power of nature intertwine. Inspired by the storm god of Altai mythology, Sazakan’s music channels the primal forces of nature while guiding the audience through an odyssey of peace, introspection, and unity.
Each track is a chapter in this journey, reflecting the complex interplay between natural elements and human emotion. When you hear this sound, you feel an ancient call coming from the depths of nature. Sazakan’s presence is believed to be behind natural events such as hurricanes, typhoons, and violent winds. Thus, people perform prayers, sacrifices, and ancient protective rituals to appease Sazakan’s anger.
